On Tuesday, Jan. 10, the boys’ varsity basketball team team prepared for an intense home match-up against Glen Rock high school. Glen Rock’s team is performing exceptionally this year with a current 6-2 record. Lodi entered the game with a 3-4 record, but they were confident the outcome of the game would be in their favor. The first quarter ended with an 18-15 Lodi lead over Glen Rock. However, by halftime, Lodi seemed to lose their steam which resulted in a score of 30-26 with Glen Rock in the lead. The game ended with a 56-41, Glen Rock win.

Richard Fontanillas had a large impact on the game with 13 points, along with Randy Mendez who had a total of 9 points. When asked about the game Richard Fontanillas stated, “We have a very talented team with young players. We just have to build more chemistry on the court. We have a lot of potential, but we need to work more together.”  Even though Lodi walked away with a loss,  they will use it as a learning experience to help them prepare for the next game against Elmwood Park on Jan. 12.
