Stars On The Rise: Sam Hunt
The good ol’ American music just got some new love. Country music has been a staple in the music industry since the 1920’s. As each year goes by, more and more people have been jumping on the country bandwagon and this year one artist in particular turned people into die hard country fans.
Sam Hunt is an American singer and song writer but who was he before his fame? He played football all throughout high school and college. The NFL even watched him and invited him to attend their training camp. In an interview with NEBRASKAland Days Sam Hunt stated “I knew this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I needed to find out if I could take it all the way,” he says. “But by then I knew that if football didn’t work out, I was going to Nashville.”
During college he fell in love with music –specifically a guitar. He started writing his own songs and got signed to a publisher. From that moment Sam Hunt’s music career took off. He began writing a song for Kenny Chesney which became a number 1 hit. He also wrote the song Cop Car for Keith Urban. He met with more writers and decided to release a free mix tape.
Montevallo was the name of his first hit album. Some songs included were Take Your Time, House Party, and Break Up in a Small Town. If you enjoy his music, he will be performing at Met-life Stadium on August 20th.
