Humans of LHS: Harmit Parmar

Harmit Parmar is a senior this year at Lodi High School. He has many hobbies including drawing and painting in which he showed interest at the early age of seven. He likes to listen to hip hop music, like Lil Uzi, to hype up his creativity. Harmit hopes to go into the NJ Stars program at Bergen Community College to study chemistry and take public speaking classes. Academically, his transition to LHS was not difficult due to the fact that he took advanced classes while living in India.

In September of 2016, he came to the United States from Gujarat, Anand, the west side of India. From India, he mostly misses the food because it is very different from that in the United States. However, he shares that food is just one of the many differences. In order to share his experience and learn about others, he plans on getting more involved in LHS. One club that he is most interested in and that offers him this opportunity is Diverse Cultures. Since growing up in India, he’s had promises broken and now he lives by the saying “forgive and forget,” because no one should let little problems in life stop them from living their best life.
