Another Win for the Lady Rams
“We went into the game with complete confidence. We knew we had to play our game to blow them right off of our court and that is exactly what we did,” stated, junior, Sara Papraniku when discussing the Lady Rams’ latest victory. On Thursday, Jan. 12, the Lady Rams entered the game with a 4-5 record and Elmwood Park with a 2-7 record. With a score of 49-36, the Lady Rams defeated Elmwood Park. Players Lila Reginald, Aliyah Williams, Daysia Bubenik, and Sara Papraniku all were essential in putting points on the score board. Reginald dominated the court with a total of 20 points and 15 rebounds. Williams scored a total of 13 points and had an impressive five steals. Bubenik added an additional six points to the board with two game-changing three-pointers. Papraniku helped to ensure a victory with seven points and three rebounds.
Overall, the Lady Rams played to the best of their abilities and came out with another W. Although the girls had a big defeat over Elmwood Park, their next game against, rivals, Garfield holds promises of much more intensity. “For Elmwood Park, we had a game plan and we executed it on the court. Next game, as we take on Garfield, we plan to play ten times stronger and harder. We are striving to beat them on their own court,” shared Papraniku.
