Holiday Concert Fun!
To get into the holiday spirit, Lodi High School hosted its annual Holiday Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The atmosphere was extremely jubilant with a full house! People had to stand in the hallway just to hear the beautiful voices of the choir and the incredible instruments of the band! The Jazz and Concert Band, as well as the Concert and Madrigal Choir, performed cheerful and joyous pieces that amazed the audience.
The concert started off with the Concert band, led by their wonderful conductor by, Dr. Macri. Big Band Holiday, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and So Easy were the musical pieces played. The Jazz Band, also conducted by Dr.Macri, played after the Concert Band. The songs performed included Winter Dances, Greensleeves, Guys and Dolls, and A Rockin’ Christmas. Both performances left the crowd astounded!
The second half of the concert consisted of the Concert and Madrigal Choir performing various Holiday songs. Ms. Petrillo led the choir for the first time this year and did an amazing job! Some of the songs played were Mary Did You Know, Carol of the Bells, Little Drummer Boy, Do you Hear What I Hear, Someday at Christmas, and the all-time favorite, Riu Riu Chiu. The crowd was mesmerized when listening to these classics!
The Lodi Rampage applauds the choir and band for another wonderful Holiday Concert. We hope everyone who attended enjoyed the performances. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, there’s always next year! Happy Holidays!
