Consumer Bowl Champs
At the Hackensack Courthouse, on Friday February 6, 2015, four LHS students along with business teacher Ms. Hipkins, brought pride upon LHS. Kaetlynn Ayala, Joey Paladino, Rozeta Lickollari, Lauren Shahine, and Devan Solanki took part in a competition in the councilmen’s chambers. They were competing against multiple schools within Bergen County about state consumer laws. During the first round, LHS dominated Hackensack and Ridgefield Park which brought them along to the second round. They then went on to beat Rutherford and became the Bergen County Champs. They will now excel to the North Eastern Regionals in April!
According to Ms. Hipkins, “All five of these students did a great job. I am so proud of them. After coming in a close second last year, it is wonderful that in their third and final year of competition, they will be moving on to the regional competitions in April. All of the schools participating do a lot of research on New Jersey’s consumer laws. It is a great experience for these young adults to understand all types of consumer issues they will face in everyday life.”
Congratulations to all the members of the team and for doing an amazing job representing Lodi!
