A Valentine’s Day at the Bristol Manor
On Feb 13., the Interact Club, along with a few members of the Jazz Band, wanted to spread their love and Valentine’s Day spirit out of the Lodi community and into the lives of the senior citizens of the Bristol Manor Nursing Home in Rochelle Park. The afternoon was well spent as the Interact Club decorated the Bristol Manor with a Valentine’s Day theme and then mingled and engaged in arts and crafts projects with the residents. Together, the high schoolers and senior citizens made sock snowmen, Valentine’s Day cards, and drawings, while listening to the Jazz Band’s performances.
The event was an overall success as the Interact Club had a heartwarming experience smiling and laughing with the members of the Bristol Manor. To simply bring a little bit of love to these residents this Valentine’s Day was a goal happily achieved. With the positive feedback from the employees, the residents, and the adviser of the Interact Club, Ms. Getradjman, it’s clear that the powerful impact made was mutual between the students and senior citizens.
