America’s favorite past time is back! With the temperature’s rising, Lodi’s attention is moving outdoors to the baseball diamond. This year’s varsity team is led by a total of nine seniors: Matthew Santana, Michael Scrafano, David Pena, Adam Ortiz, Henry Rosario, Evan Geisler, Richard Fontanillas, Brandon Almanzar, and Anthony Ronaldo. These seniors are bringing tons of leadership and experience to the baseball field this year. Junior, Elian Guzman was a star of the team last year and is planning to have an even bigger year in 2017! Senior, Adam Ortiz is making his return to the pitching mound after a one year hiatus and is expected to carry a big load. “It feels good to be able to be back for my senior year and play with my friends one last time. I have high expectations for us and I truly believe we will meet them,” Ortiz shared. Head coach Kurt Geisler is very optimistic and excited for the 2017 season as well. The team is in action for its first scrimmage Friday, March 10! Good luck and please come support!
