José Fernández: Gone but Never Forgotten

The MLB is mourning the death of the Miami Marlins pitcher José Fernández.  Fernández passed away on Sept. 25, 2016 from a boating accident off the coast of Miami Beach at about 3 A.M.  Although he wasn’t driving the boat, he died from the impact of the crash alongside two other victims. It was very tragic news not only for his family, but also for his teammates. To honor him, the Marlins wore his jersey for the final time. Jose Fernandez’s number has been retired and the memories of him are being cherished by his fellow teammates. Not only did his death leave the entire MLB in disbelief, but many of his fans are grieving as well. The Lodi Rampage interviewed a series of students to get their reactions on his death. As expected, José Fernández was an inspiration to many people and he will forever be missed.
