Instant Decision Day Wrap Up
In case you did not attend the meeting on October 3, here’s a summary of what you missed. Mrs. Orosz spoke to the senior body in regards to Instant Decision Day clarifying that it is NOT Early Decision. Early decision is binding!! That means that a student who is accepted as an Early Decision applicant MUST attend the college. During Instant Decision, if you get accepted you do NOT have to attend if you do not want to. It is not binding. Below is a summed up list of MANDATORY STEPS you will need to take in order to be prepared for November 4.
- Hand in your transcript request forms to Mrs. Orosz by Wednesday October 8.
- Apply to the colleges you are interested in online by October 15.
- Send your SAT/SATII/ACT scores electronically to the colleges through collegeboard.org by October 15. Also print out copies of your scores for each college that you will be meeting with on Instant Decision Day.
- Letters of Recommendation must be uploaded to Naviance by your teachers no later than October 15.
- Be sure to bring copies of your college essay with you on November 4.
- If you have a resume, be sure to bring in copies of that aswell.
- Most colleges are waiving their application fees for that day, but if they are not, be sure to bring in the fee money.
- Make yourself aware of each college’s admissions requirements.
- If you have free or reduced lunch, you may be eligible for the Educational Opportunity Fund or Educational Opportunity Program (EOF/EOP) at the colleges who offer it.
