Spring Concert

There is only one word to describe the spring concert: Magical. From the harmonized voices of the Madrigal choir to the Mickey and Minnie ears worn by the Concert Choir, this year’s show is by far the most memorable one LHS has seen. This year featured a Disney Dazzle Medley with songs from movies such as Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid. The songs were performed by the Concert Choir with the company of Mrs. DiMaria on the piano and Tony Malki on the African djembe (drum). There was a Showcase with solos performed by Hannah Arp, Dhielan Bustos, Destiny Prado, Emily D’Onofrio, and Paulette Gando.

Dr. Arella put together a magnificent exhibition of talent, and her energy during the performances could be felt not only by her singers but the crowd as well. The auditorium was quiet when the Madrigal Choir took the stage and performed their rendition of Seize The Day from the musical Newsies. They also performed Home in d’Rock and Seasons of love from Rent. Their performance won them first place in Superior Rating with a score of 96 out of 100 at the High Note Festival on May 8.

The night ended with the Concert Choir singing Hakuna Matata, Cruella De Vil, Colors of the Wind, and more Disney movie songs. The performances were vivid and emotional, with the true feeling that Disney himself sought to achieve. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Disney theme without a proper goodbye. The choir lined themselves up against the walls of the auditorium all around the audience and sang a goodbye that left everyone at the edge of their seats.
