As school starts up again, so do their extracurriculars, and LHS has at least thirty for all of their students to choose from. So what clubs are starting this school year and what are they all about?
AgriScience Club with Mrs. Hansen and Mrs. Fasulo in Room 102A or Room 220
Ever walk past the courtyard and see a bunch of chickens walking around? Does your science class have plant towers filled to the brim with plants? AgriScience Club and its advisors take care of these and more to make sure they thrive. Meetings on Wednesdays!
Debate Club with Mr. Holoduek in Room 210
The Debate Club will provide students with a more informed perspective on the world around them. Students will have the opportunity to learn about important issues in politics, public policy, and philosophy. They will also gain a deeper appreciation for the diverse perspectives that make up the public sphere. The Debate Club will help students foster their research and public speaking skills. They will grow the Debate Club to include debates with other schools on contemporary topics. Their proposed meeting days are Mondays and Thursdays after school at 3 PM.
Drama Club with Coach and Ms. White in the Cafeteria
Acting, singing, and dancing–express yourself! If you’re interested in being the helping hand for the production, the crew welcomes you with open arms! Intensive and fun, the Lodi High School Drama Club welcomes you to join them in the production of this year’s musical, Frozen!
Ecology Club with Mrs. Banks in Room 222
Ever wonder what you can do to help the planet right here at school? Ecology Club is all about making a difference—through projects like recycling drives, awareness campaigns, and green initiatives that keep our community eco-friendly. Come join them every Tuesday and be part of the change!
Freshman Student Council with Ms. Blumenfeld in Room 203 or the Media Center
They discuss fundraising ideas that can ultimately support the Class of 2028. They are currently working on Snap!Raise, Bake Sale ideas, and an upcoming Car Wash. They always welcome new members. They meet on different days throughout the month so please contact the advisor for more!
(Gay-Straight Alliance) GSA Club with Ms. White in Room 132C
This club is great for those who need a safe space to talk and learn about each other. Interested in educating yourself on LGBTQIA+ related topics? Their door is always open. Meetings on Thursdays!
HOSA – Future Health Occupations with Mrs. Fasulo in Room 130
A competitive league, HOSA focuses on knowledge based competitions, gradually going against neighboring HOSA organizations, hopefully leading to state and national competitions. Taking tests based on health topics and leadership skills, this LHS League hopes to be more aware of what it means to take on any health and medical role and lead their peers in the right direction. Interact Club with Ms. Laurito in Room 215
Much more active in recent years, Interact Club is one of several within the school that focuses on community service, taking several field trips a year to experience helping others. They are most known as the club who does the Fuzzy Sock Sale during the holiday season. Meetings on Thursdays!
Key Club with Mrs. Hansen in Room 220
This club dedicates itself entirely to community service! Famous for their incredibly popular tres leches bake sales and candle sales, they raise and donate their money to charity. They meet on Wednesday mornings.
National Honors Society (NHS) with Ms. Cooper in the Cafeteria
This society comes back into the school year with loads of volunteer opportunities for its members. Striving to do more community work around town, the NHS starts off by being a helping hand to the local elementary schools. These members are hand-picked through an invite and an interview, allowing the club to be filled by dedicated and capable students.
Poetry Club with Mrs. Debowska in Room 135
This is a creative writing club striving to express emotion and improve writing skills. Exploring different types of poetry, this club is for peers who want to understand and express themselves better through a different medium. Meetings on Thursdays!
Red Cross Club with Mrs. Mann in Room 217
Do you want to help the community by helping to organize a food drive and a blood drive? Do you want to raise money or collect items for those in need? Join the Red Cross Club! The Red Cross Club at LHS connects with the American Red Cross to provide support, nationally, to those in need. Meetings are on Tuesday mornings!
Senior Student Council with Ms. Cooper in the Cafeteria
Want to get involved with last minute fundraisers to help raise money for senior activities? Join the Senior Student Council! They usually meet before school on Tuesdays sporadically but for some circumstances, the day might change.
Student Government with Mr. Smolenski in Room 208
The student body is this organization’s main focus. All those fun school wide competitions? They organize it! Between Hoco, Powderpuff, and Ram Wars, they’re here to make your high school years memorable! They encourage you to join if you want to be involved in making memories for your fellow peers. Student Library Advisory Council (SLACkers) with Mrs. Neshan in the Media Center
This club functions just as media center assistants during your free time, during lunch, after school or before school. Throughout the month, they post projects that you can work on throughout the day — bulletin boards, creating book displays, contest ideas, providing ideas about new trends in young adult books and interests to keep their collection up to date with what you actually want to read and see in the media center. They have meetings once a month, so please contact the advisor for more!
The RoboRams (Robotics Club) with Mrs. Hansen and Mrs. Suson in Room 102A
The LHS Robotics Club–The RoboRams–is a competitive FIRST program team going against other schools in Bergen County. A club with several new members, it hopes to enter this year with a winning robot in four upcoming competitions. They are best known for their annual Laser Maze fundraiser. Meetings are often!
