The History of St. Patrick’s Day

Every March 17, the Irish and the Irish-at-heart  celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in honor of the Irish patron saint who is believed to have died on March 17 in 461. Although the celebration originated as a Roman Catholic religious feast, over the time it has become an international festival that highlights and celebrates Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods, and vast amount of green.
