Basketball Weekly Update – January 19
The Girls’ Basketball Team were road warriors Tuesday (Jan. 20) after their win over Manchester Regional. The game looked like a shootout in the first half with both teams scoring a combined 46 points. However, the girls’ defense stepped up their game in the third and fourth quarters only allowing 12 points while the offense scored 25. The final score was 46-37. On Thursday (Jan. 22) the girls team earned another victory over Pompton Lakes at home (35-25). The week ended Friday (Jan.23) with a loss to Becton, 44-35, bringing their record to 9-3.
Tuesday (Jan. 20) made the Boys Basketball Team go under .500 after their 69-56 loss to Manchester Regional. While scoring a decent amount of points throughout the game, with 20 of those points coming in the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough to bring the Rams a win. Thursday’s game was a chance for the Boys’ team to respond and that is exactly what their offense did, scoring 62 points overall. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as Pompton Lakes won the nail-biter 64-62. The boys record stands at 4-6.
