The start of all winter sports is underway and Pep Rally is where it all begins. At Lodi High School’s Winter Pep Rally, our girls’ and boys’ Varsity basketball team and the Varsity Wrestling team were introduced.  Coach Gorski introduced her team and prepared for Friday nights game against Eastern Christian, which concluded in a win 40-25. Next, the boys’ team was introduced with a unique entrance; Joe Rodriguez woke up the students with a memorable dunk. “Big Joe Rodriguez is a returning All League player and will have a huge impact on this team with teammates Aaron Bell, Ahmad Odeh and other key players,” said Coach Terhune. The boys later came home with a win against Eastern Christian 56-45. To end the pep rally, the wrestling team entered through closed doors and were introduced by Coach Maggio. The wrestlers had the Garfield Holiday tournament Saturday morning . Senior captain Dom Salvatore took first place, Sophomore Chris Caban took second place, and Senior Gorav Kumar and Junior Brandon Calvo both took third place. There are high expectations for these jolly winter teams this upcoming season and so far they are starting off strong!
