Biology or Cooking?
Ms. Press’ Honors Biology class transformed into a cooking class when she introduced a new project. She was looking for a new and creative way to teach the anatomy of a cell and thought that using food to learn would be fun for her Honors class. Ms. Press had them start a science cookbook and they began their first chapter, Edible Cells. The cookbook goes along with the curriculum of the year, so their first chapter in the cookbook relates to them learning about the anatomy of the cells. The students create the delicious treats and upload the recipes to a Google Slides presentation. At the end of the year, Ms. Press plans to send the digital cookbook to each of the students that participated. She also hopes to have the cookbook as a recurring activity every year.
