The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards took place on September 14, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The event was streamed live on both CBS and Paramount+, pulling in a larger audience than the year prior.
A very talked about moment going into the night was how Severance (Apple TV+) led all shows with 27 nominations. Yet, it didn’t end up taking over the wins.
Winners of the Night
The standout of the evening was The Studio, a comedy series from Apple TV+. It made Emmy history when winning 13 awards in a single season, including the Outstanding Comedy Series. These wins also included the Primetime and Creative Arts categories which set a record for the most Emmys ever won by a comedy in a single year.
In the limited series category, the award for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series went to Adolescence, which had a strong judgement all year round.

- Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Tramell Tilman (Severance) made history by becoming the first Black man to win in this category.

- Lead Actress in a Comedy Series: Maya Erskine (The Studio).
- Supporting roles in comedy and limited series also went to cast members from The Studio and Adolescence, further setting those shows as award magnets.
Ceremony Highlights
The show first opened with a humorous speech from the host Nate Bargatze, who would go on to joke about the wide variety of streaming platforms and the difficulty of keeping up with so many shows.
