Senioritis. Yes, we have reached that point of the year where many, if not all, of the Seniors are coming down with an acute Senioritis. It is not particularly contagious, but it is spreading quickly as the end of the year comes to a close and Seniors come closer to tossing their cap in the air in the summer air.
By definition, Senioritis is the lack of motivation and effort by high school Seniors, resulting in tardiness, absences and the plummet or decline of grades. It is common as the school year comes to a close as students find work unnecessary. Although it is easy to fall under this condition, there is still a line that students have to keep from crossing as some colleges have the ability to reject students due to major grade drops.
While we are nearing the end of the year (and many including myself are viewing the submit button as an enemy) we are in the last neck of the woods. Fourth and one. So here are a few ways to prevent Senioritis from spreading more and more.
- Watch deadlines
- Take consistent but small breaks
- Do work during school in order to prevent work at home
- Reward yourself for finishing school work
- Get organized
And if all fails, take a nap, eat some food and you’ll be as good as new. Good luck to the fellow Seniors and may the odds be in your favor.
