Top 3 Christmas Movies
December 23, 2022
No matter what the holiday is, people are always looking for movies to watch to put them in the spirit of the holiday. This applies to holidays such as Halloween, Valentine’s day, but most importantly Christmas. There are tons of Christmas movies out there, but nothing compares to our top three, Christmas Vacation, The Grinch, and Home Alone. Here’s why:
- The movie “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” starring Chevy Chase is easily the best Christmas movie of all time. Although the movie doesn’t necessarily put viewers in the Christmas spirit, it gives a realistic representation of the chaos of Christmas. Most importantly, the comedic aspect is what gives viewers an all around fun watching experience. The film was produced in 1989, but till this day we can relate to characters. The Griswold family hosts Christmas, and has their family come to their home and celebrate with them. Throughout the film, we see the stress, complications, and mayhem that goes on when having the family under one roof for the holidays. Unlike most Christmas movies, the best thing about this film is the comedic relief that takes place as the destruction is happening as well. Overall, this movie is a great watch, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new Christmas watch.
- The Grinch is a classic christmas movie that is based on the children’s book written by Dr.Suess. Not only does it put children in the Christmas spirit, but it is entertaining for parents and teens as well. Played by Jim Carrey, the Grinch does an excellent job of making viewers laugh, even though it is not a humor-based movie. This film is watched by many during the holidays, and is a go to movie if you’re looking to be put into the holiday spirit.
- Home Alone starring Macaulay Culkin is a classic movie during Christmas. Out of the three movies on the list Home Alone portrays more of Kevin fighting the robbers than focused on Christmas. Taking this into consideration, it is still an amazing Christmas movie because it shows the character development of Kevin from the beginning to the ending of the movie. He went from hating his family and not wanting anything to do with them, to only wanting them home as a Christmas gift. Overall, this movie can portray the value family has over making Christmas one to remember.
