The Pep Rally is a very energetic day that introduces the Fall Sports: Football, Cheerleading, Men and Women’s Soccer, Girls Tennis, Cross Country, Volleyball, and Marching Band. As Mr. Tirico introduced these teams and gave a rundown of their season, Rampage interviewed a couple of important people.

When asked about the team’s most important goal this season, Coach Calizza, the Girls Volleyball Coach, responded, “We want to make sure we are kind of putting everything together and working towards a common goal of just being aggressive, having good teamwork, and communicating.” Harun Agus, Junior Varsity Football Player confidently explained, “It’s our year to prove something. We have a great team, a great program, and we expect nothing but the best from ourselves. “

When asked about the Pep Rally’s importance to the school, Mr. O’brien, Vice Principal, added, “It brings us together as a school community to celebrate school pride and make LHS a family. It brings us out here because academics are important, but community and spirit and togetherness is even more important sometimes!” Coach Sargenti, Coach Staffa, Coach Luna, Coach Scimeca, (LHS’s cheerleading Coaches) stated, “It’s a tradition that has been going on for decades. It’s an opportunity for the school to come together and showcase their school spirit and get the teams pumped for their upcoming season.”

Mr. Maggio, Head Coach of the football team, when asked about the team’s strongest attribute shared, “Our senior leadership! We have a group of young men that have been doing this for four years now. Individuals like Jaylen Duran, Sean Kuhl, and Jorden Enigam, our tricaptains, are the types of athletes that put the good of the team ahead of their own individual goals.”

Other members of the school community also weighed in on the importance of a pep rally. Mr. Nicolosis, Art Teacher, thinks it is “important to recognize all the people involved, the athletes, the band members, the coaches, and the RamPage people.” Mr. Lewis, new senior class advisor, added, “I’m really excited for the pep rally and I’m looking forward to it, especially because I’m the new senior class advisor, so I need high energy all this year!”
