Humans of LHS: Carlos Andres Lopez

Last year, a new face arrived at Lodi High School: Carlos Andres Lopez. Although his first name is Carlos, he actually prefers Andres. Andres has recently joined the Pre-Med Club and Student Government, just to name a few. Coldplay is his absolute favorite band; if he could listen to one song for the rest of his life, it would probably be The Scientist. These are only a few pieces that make up Andres, but how he became a part of LHS’s community is a very interesting story.

Before arriving to Lodi, Andres lived in Colombia and before that, he lived in France. He spent the first eight years of his life in France; he grew up around the French language and people. He also grew up speaking Spanish, since his parents are Colombian and French. Then, at the age of eight, he moved to Colombia and had to adjust to another country. He lived there until he came to New Jersey last year. From living in three countries in 17 years, Andres has learned to love and appreciate the cultures, foods, and people. He appreciates the opportunities he’s had to experience many different cultures. Andres is hopeful that he will be able to make new memories and learn more about life from living in America.
