This was a busy, yet successful week for the Lady Rams. With wins against Mary Help of Christians and Pompton Lakes, the Lady Rams are proving that they are tough competitors. On Tuesday, Jan. 24, with a score of 49-22, the Lady Rams defeated Mary Help of Christians. Not far behind Reginald, Sophomore, Aliyah Williams added 17 points to the score board with five two-pointers, one three-pointer, one free throw, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, and five steals. After beating Mary Help of Christians, the Lady Rams knew that this week held high hopes of success.

On Thursday, Jan. 26, the Lady Rams with a record of 6-7 defeated Pompton Lakes, who entered the game with a better record of (8-7). Reginald lead the team and added 28 points to the score board with 14 two-pointers, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and five steals. Sophomore, Mary Breny played a large part in the win by adding nine points to the score board with four two-pointers, one free throw, six rebounds, two assists, and five blocks. Sophomore, Daysia Bubenik did a great job and shot one of her famous three pointers to make the final score 52-36.

Overall, the Lady Rams definitely came out to play this week. One player, in particular, who stood out was, sophomore, Aliyah Williams who had a triple double in the first game against Mary Help of Christians. She also made sure to add an additional eight points onto the score board during the game against Pompton Lakes. Williams has been playing basketball for 10 years now and she has played on varsity since her freshman year. Williams plays soccer, as well; but regardless of her involvement in other sports, she will always choose basketball first. “I love soccer, but no matter what basketball will always have my heart. I’m so used to it because I grew up watching my dad play.” Williams has high hopes for the next two years of her high school career as she is working toward being captain her senior year.  Williams is very proud of herself, but especially her teammates for pulling together and coming out on top this week. “After winning these last two games, it motivates me to want to do better and try harder.”

The hard work does not end here. Be sure to check back next Friday, Feb. 3, for more coverage of our Lady Rams!
